In 2003, Anhui Yuanhetang Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as Yuanhetang) was founded in the Industrial Cluster of Yimen Town, Guoyang County, Anhui Province, with a registered capital of RMB 179 million yuan. Bordering China's largest TCM materials market in Bozhou, Anhui province on the west, Yuanhetang covers an area of 6,480 Mu (43200 hectares) for production and operations. After more than 10 years of development, Yuanhetang has developed into a large modern whole-industrial-chain pharmaceutical group and a national high-tech enterprise integrating the cultivation of TCM materials, processing of Chinese medicinal decoction slices, pilot production of TCM formula granules, production of Chinese patent medicine preparations, production of healthcare foods, R&D of new drugs and wholesale and sale of pharmaceuticals.
In 2012， Yuanhetang attracted capital infusion from China Galaxy Securities, Guangzhou Yuexiu, Shanghai Royal Sea Guoxinyuan Fund, Guangdong Orient Fortune Link and Sinopharm, respectively. In 2015, Sinopharm became the second largest shareholder of Yuanhetang， and Yuanhetang was officially listed in China's National Equities Exchange and Quotations.
Yuanhetang boasts of 1,133 kinds of TCM decoction slices registered at and approved by the CFDA, which come out in the forefront among the TCM decoction slice manufacturers in China. Yuanhetang takes the lead among the enterprises in this industry in the production technologies, packaging design of more than 100 kinds of high-end precious TCM decoction slices. It also leads the industry in terms of industrialization, modernization and standardization. Yuanhetang has nearly 100 kinds of healthcare foods with the QS certification of the CFDA and 33 kinds of herbal teas, 12 kinds of drinking powder and more than 10 kinds of soup base favored by the consumers.
By collecting rare and precious species from nature, Yuanhetang has been committed to the cultivation of TCM materials and protect the source of every healthcare product. Yuanhetang has a cultivation base covering 6000 Mu (400 hectares), which is used to create high-quality, high-standard demonstration cultivation bases for TCM materials, including a base to propagate an improved Saffron variety. Yuanhetang has constructed a GAP base covering 5,000 Mu (333.3 hectares) for various high-quality TCM materials, mainly including Chinese herbaceous peonies, peonies, chrysanthemums and Ganoderma lucidum, etc. Yuanhetang has also constructed a Dendrobium huoshanense cultivation base in Huoshan County, Anhui Province (a well-known place of origin of the Noble Dendrobium). Various quality TCM materials are also originated from here, which are used to benefit the people.
